Compliance Operations Analyst

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that operates a global platform serving hundreds of companies across multiple countries. Our client is expanding their Compliance Operations team in South Africa and needs a detail-oriented Compliance Operations Analyst to support risk-based onboarding and monitoring workflows.

This is a remote position based in South Africa, working closely with a small compliance team to ensure proper verification and screening of business clients and individual contractors before payment activity is enabled.

Responsibilities

• Review business KYB documentation including corporate registration, ownership structures, proof of operations, and authorized representative verification
• Support contractor KYC processes by verifying identity documents, resolving address or payment detail mismatches, and handling jurisdictional flags
• Execute sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks using approved compliance tools and procedures
• Investigate payment-related issues such as failed payouts, payment detail changes, and cross-border payment concerns
• Maintain accurate compliance trackers, evidence folders, and case documentation to audit-ready standards
• Escalate potential fraud, sanctions risk, unusual activity, or policy violations promptly and with clear documentation
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Operations teams on client-facing compliance requests

What We're Looking For

• 1-3 years of hands-on compliance experience in KYC, KYB, client/customer onboarding, or sanctions screening
• Previous experience at a payment processor, bank, crypto exchange, or money transmitter is highly valued
• Strong document review skills with ability to identify missing, inconsistent, or unclear information
• Excellent written English with ability to produce clear case notes and client communications
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, case management queues, and managing multiple concurrent cases
• High attention to detail combined with sound judgment about when to escalate versus resolve independently
• Arabic fluency is a strong advantage but not required
