QA Engineer – Automation

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consulting organization seeking an experienced QA Engineer – Automation to join their fully remote team. This is a direct-hire, full-time W2 position based anywhere in the United States.

Our client delivers enterprise solutions across cloud, data, and distributed systems. This role offers the chance to shape testing strategy and build automation frameworks that drive quality across modern web and API platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems
• Partner with development teams to expand test coverage and embed automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Implement testing strategies including risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and continuous testing in Agile environments
• Automate REST API testing and validation workflows
• Perform data validation using SQL queries
• Debug test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues
• Document testing processes, frameworks, and results clearly for cross-functional stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices and tools

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 6+ years of QA automation experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• Proven experience automating REST APIs
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Solid SQL skills for data validation
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Preferred:

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6
• Knowledge of containerized test environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs
• Exposure to behavior-driven development frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
• Familiarity with security testing fundamentals including OWASP and basic penetration testing

Pay

This is a full-time W2 position. The client's salary range is $115,000–$130,000 annually, and compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
