About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential federal contracting organization seeking an exceptional Chief Architect to lead enterprise technology strategy and solution delivery. This senior technical leadership role offers the opportunity to shape architecture roadmaps, drive modernization initiatives, and influence strategic technology investments for U.S. Government clients.

We are looking for a seasoned technology leader who can bridge business vision and technical execution, champion engineering excellence, and guide cross-functional teams through complex transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps defining current state and target state architectures across application, data, and infrastructure domains
  • Engage directly with clients to understand business challenges and design viable, value-added solutions with measurable outcomes
  • Link mission strategy to IT strategy, documenting programs and projects that meet organizational needs in efficient, sustainable, and adaptable ways
  • Establish architecture standards, design patterns, and technology reference models; govern adoption, compliance, and exception approvals
  • Maintain technology roadmaps that manage technical debt, plan modernization efforts, and track end-of-life migrations to influence investment decisions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies including AI/ML, Generative AI, and Agentic AI; pilot promising solutions with senior engineering teams
  • Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, code quality, and security-by-design practices across delivery teams
  • Translate business issues and opportunities into technical requirements, identifying both technical and process solutions
  • Lead selection of delivery teams and drive implementation through established project management best practices
  • Support business development activities including proposal development, RFI/RFP responses, and technical presentations

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • M.A., M.S., or PhD degree from an accredited institution
  • 15+ years leading solution delivery for U.S. Government customers
  • Proven experience managing senior technical personnel
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. Government marketplace with emphasis on solution development and consolidation
  • Track record managing solution design, development, and delivery for multiple enterprise systems in federal environments
  • Public Trust clearance eligibility (minimum required to start)
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% within the continental U.S.
  • Authoritative knowledge of enterprise applications, web services, data services, and business analysis
  • Passion for applying emerging technologies to modern business challenges
  • Understanding of modern business models and technology strategies
  • Experience leading technology-based consulting engagements and solving complex problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior project management experience on enterprise programs
  • Experience performing architecture responsibilities on Agile programs
  • Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft SharePoint, O365, and GIS systems
