Position Summary

As a Fraud Strategy Analyst at Vanguard, you'll investigate fraud risks, analyze transaction patterns, and develop actionable recommendations to reduce exposure across our business lines. Your work will directly support Vanguard's commitment to protecting investor assets and maintaining the trust that clients place in us. You'll examine case data, identify emerging threats, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement controls and process improvements that prevent fraud before it occurs.

Core Duties

• Analyze fraud incidents and suspicious activity patterns to identify root causes and systemic vulnerabilities
• Develop and refine fraud prevention strategies and control recommendations based on risk assessment and industry trends
• Monitor and track fraud metrics, creating reports that inform leadership decision-making and resource allocation
• Partner with operations, compliance, and technology teams to evaluate and strengthen existing fraud prevention measures
• Research emerging fraud schemes and threats in the financial services industry to keep Vanguard's defenses current
• Document findings and communicate complex fraud-related insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (accounting, finance, mathematics, data science, or related discipline)
• 2+ years of professional experience in fraud analysis, risk management, compliance, or financial operations
• Strong analytical and investigative skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and financial systems
• Solid understanding of fraud typologies, financial crime risks, and regulatory compliance frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to present findings to diverse audiences
• Detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple investigations and projects simultaneously
• Genuine interest in financial services, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement
