Fraud Strategy Analyst

Join Vanguard as a Fraud Strategy Analyst in one of our 2 office locations. This full-time role focuses on developing and implementing fraud prevention strategies to protect our clients and firm.

Position Summary

As a Fraud Strategy Analyst at Vanguard, you will develop and implement data-driven strategies to identify, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities across our business operations. Working within our Risk & Compliance division, you'll analyze transaction patterns, assess emerging fraud threats, and recommend operational improvements to strengthen fraud controls and protect client assets.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of fraud incidents and suspicious activity to identify trends, patterns, and systemic vulnerabilities
• Develop fraud prevention strategies and recommend enhancements to detection systems, policies, and procedures
• Evaluate the effectiveness of existing fraud controls and collaborate with operational teams to implement improvements
• Create reports and presentations summarizing fraud landscape findings and strategic recommendations for leadership review
• Monitor industry fraud developments and regulatory guidance to keep strategies aligned with evolving threats and compliance requirements
• Work cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and technology teams to design and optimize fraud mitigation processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field
• 2–4 years of professional experience in fraud analysis, risk management, or related financial services operations
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis tools and databases (SQL, Excel, or business intelligence platforms)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and executive audiences
• Knowledge of fraud prevention best practices and financial services regulatory frameworks
• Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
