Senior Manager, Fraud Analytics & Operations

Vanguard seeks a Senior Manager, Fraud Analytics & Operations for a full-time position at our Malvern, PA headquarters. This leadership role combines strategic oversight of fraud detection systems, data-driven risk management, and operational excellence across a critical business function.

What This Role Involves

You'll direct the development and execution of fraud prevention strategies that protect our organization and clients. This position balances strategic vision with tactical execution, requiring someone who can lead advanced analytics initiatives while managing operational processes in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Core Duties

• Lead and mentor a team of fraud analysts and operational specialists, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous improvement
• Design, implement, and refine fraud detection models and algorithms using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques
• Oversee fraud investigation processes and coordinate responses to identified threats across business units
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators and dashboards that track fraud trends, system effectiveness, and operational metrics
• Collaborate with risk management, compliance, and technology teams to integrate fraud controls into broader enterprise risk frameworks
• Prepare executive reports and present findings to senior leadership on fraud patterns, emerging threats, and recommended mitigation strategies
• Manage budgets, resources, and project timelines for analytics initiatives and operational improvements

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering; advanced degree preferred
• 7+ years of professional experience in fraud analytics, financial crime prevention, risk management, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of demonstrated leadership and team management experience
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools, statistical modeling, SQL, and programming languages including Python or R
• Strong understanding of fraud typologies, detection methodologies, and regulatory requirements in financial services
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical findings for non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and lead cross-functional projects
