Safety Coordinator

Vanderlande is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our Los Angeles team. In this full-time role, you'll lead workplace safety initiatives, develop policies and procedures, and ensure our facility operates in full compliance with all applicable regulations.

Position Summary

As Safety Coordinator for Vanderlande in Los Angeles, you'll take ownership of workplace safety and health across our operations. This role bridges management, operations, and employee teams, making safety a priority at every level. You'll develop comprehensive safety programs, conduct regular assessments, and foster a strong safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for creating a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety policies, procedures, and programs that comply with OSHA and other applicable regulations
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and areas for improvement
• Provide safety training to employees on hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and safe work practices
• Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, document findings, and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, documentation, and reports required by regulatory agencies
• Collaborate with management to establish safety objectives and track progress against key metrics
• Promote a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives

Skills & Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and workplace compliance requirements
• Experience developing and delivering safety training programs
• Strong ability to communicate complex safety concepts clearly to diverse audiences
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Proven incident investigation and root-cause analysis abilities
• Skilled problem-solver who can identify systemic safety issues and develop practical solutions
• Professional report writing and documentation skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with evolving safety standards
