(Senior) DevOps Engineer (m/f/x)

Responsibilities

Our client, a dynamic technology organization in Berlin, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure and platform operations. You will work within a dedicated team building and maintaining modern cloud-native solutions in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Kubernetes & Container Management: Operate and expand production clusters, including node setup, upgrades, deployments, and troubleshooting. Onboard development teams onto the platform and manage Docker-based container solutions.
• CI/CD & GitOps: Maintain and develop GitLab environments including pipelines, runners, Kubernetes agents, and integrations. Implement GitOps-based delivery using ArgoCD or Flux.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Provision and configure infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
• Database Operations: Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot database systems in production.
• Observability: Build and operate monitoring stacks (ELK, TIG, Grafana Alloy) including dashboards, alerting, and log analysis.
• Network Diagnostics: Analyze and optimize networks, perform root cause analysis on complex incidents including packet-level troubleshooting.
• Security: Implement security checks at application and infrastructure levels, including SAST, dependency scanning, secrets detection, SBOM generation, and artifact signing in CI/CD pipelines.

What We're Looking For

• A degree in computer science, STEM, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong Linux administration skills and solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing) with proven troubleshooting ability
• At least 3 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments, along with container technologies (Docker/OCI)
• Practical depth with GitLab CI/CD or comparable systems, and GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux
• Hands-on experience automating infrastructure and configuration as code with Terraform and Ansible
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach
• A collaborative mindset—you enjoy developing solutions together, documenting your work, and sharing knowledge across teams
• Fluency in English (working language)

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, AWS, or GCP) and migration projects
• Familiarity with DevSecOps toolchains such as SonarQube, Sonatype Lifecycle, Trivy, or Cosign/Sigstore
