Front-End / UI/UX Developer – U.S. Coast Guard – Remote

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential federal contractor supporting critical government operations. We're seeking a Front-End / UI/UX Developer to design and deliver mission-critical web and mobile applications in a secure, fully remote environment. This role combines strong front-end engineering skills with practical UI/UX design judgment and user research experience to build responsive, reliable applications that serve important national missions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React, AWS Amplify, TypeScript, and GraphQL APIs
• Build and optimize mobile applications using React Native and/or Flutter, with emphasis on offline-first design for reliability in disconnected or low-connectivity environments
• Translate wireframes, mockups, and requirements into clean, functional, and user-friendly interfaces
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration across systems
• Lead and conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to continuously refine the user experience
• Create and maintain design assets, style guides, and UI/UX workflows using Figma and Adobe XD
• Apply accessibility and usability best practices to support compliance with federal standards, including Section 508
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize front-end performance across devices, browsers, and mobile platforms
• Document processes, design decisions, and technical implementations to support continuity and scalability

What We're Looking For

Required:

• U.S. Citizen with active TS clearance required to start
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
• 8+ years of professional experience as a Front-End Developer, UI/UX Engineer, Mobile Developer, or related technical role
• Proven expertise with React, TypeScript, AWS Amplify, and GraphQL APIs
• Demonstrated experience with mobile frameworks such as React Native or Flutter
• Proficiency with UI/UX design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions
• Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-platform development
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a remote team environment

Preferred:

• Experience supporting federal government, defense-related, or national security projects
• Familiarity with Agile development practices and DevSecOps pipelines
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in application development
• Familiarity with offline-first and low-connectivity application strategies
