About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential international organization seeking a talented Java Developer with Liferay expertise for a full-remote position. Our client operates on a European schedule, and candidates must be available to work during European business hours. This is a long-term engagement with a dynamic global team.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement content migration utilities from legacy CMS platforms to Liferay DXP, including static content, structured content, metadata, taxonomy, tags, and multilingual assets
- Build and configure multilingual websites with appropriate localization frameworks
- Integrate LDAP authentication and establish user management systems including groups, roles, and permissions
- Develop responsive themes, layouts, page templates, and fragments following established web style guides
- Configure and customize workflows to support business processes
- Create user dashboards tailored to role-based requirements
- Develop custom Liferay modules including portlets and hooks based on application specifications
- Integrate enterprise search functionality
- Provide daily progress updates and collaborate effectively with distributed team members
- Execute additional technical tasks as project needs evolve
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- 5-10+ years of hands-on Java development experience
- Strong expertise with RESTful APIs, Angular, JSON, and XML
- Expert-level proficiency in Liferay Web Content Management System (CMS), specifically:
- Proven experience executing CMS migration projects
- Deep knowledge of Liferay theme and fragment development
- Comprehensive understanding of Liferay out-of-the-box features and widgets
- Advanced skills in custom Liferay module development and search integration
- Fluency in English (written and verbal communication)
- Ability to work European business hours from a remote location
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
