About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking an AI Safety Specialist for a fully remote contract role based in Norway. Our client is at the forefront of developing safe and aligned AI systems, and they need experienced practitioners to evaluate model outputs across sensitive domains.
This is a contract position offering flexible remote work. Candidates will work closely with research teams to assess AI-generated content for safety, accuracy, and policy compliance.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for safety, factual accuracy, policy compliance, and overall quality
- Review content involving misinformation, political persuasion, self-harm, violence, cyber threats, biosecurity, and other sensitive domains
- Apply and refine evaluation rubrics for RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), SFT (Supervised Fine-Tuning), and AI safety benchmarking
- Identify unsafe outputs, hallucinations, reasoning failures, and policy violations in model responses
- Provide structured, actionable feedback to improve model alignment and safety performance
- Collaborate with AI researchers and safety teams on ongoing evaluation initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Journalism, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Public Policy, Law, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in AI Safety, Trust & Safety, journalism, public policy, scientific research, security, or a related field
- Excellent written English communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning abilities
- Demonstrated ability to consistently evaluate nuanced and policy-sensitive scenarios
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with AI Safety, RLHF, SFT, Trust & Safety, or AI evaluation workflows
- Familiarity with safety policies, content moderation frameworks, or evaluation rubric development
- Experience reviewing complex, high-risk, or ambiguous content in professional settings
