About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential climate solutions organization in their search for an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to serve their Central US region. This role supports field operations across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and driving a culture of safety excellence. The position can be based anywhere in the Central United States with proximity to a major airport.
Responsibilities
- Support regional leadership in achieving operational excellence across distributed field locations
- Develop, implement, and measure EHS programs, strategies, policies, and training procedures aligned with corporate standards
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and site visits to ensure effective implementation of safety processes and identify risks or hazards
- Provide program administration support and assist with development and updates of regional safety programs
- Foster incident, stop work, and near miss reporting culture; assist with investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- Facilitate EHS training and orientation; identify training requirements and ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Ensure markets maintain all EHS records in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
- Manage contractor and subcontractor pre-qualification process and conduct regular jobsite audits
- Complete risk assessments and recommend control measures for potential areas of concern
- Review and approve safety data sheets and participate in new chemical request processes
- Coach and mentor employees on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk management
What We're Looking For
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in Commercial HVAC or Environmental, Health & Safety, including safety programs, regulatory compliance, risk assessments, auditing, inspections, and employee training
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across the Central US region
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree
- Recognized certification in Environmental, Safety, or Health such as CIH, CSP, or similar
- Previous experience in field business operations and multi-site safety program coordination
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications and EHS data management systems
- Ability to develop and deliver training content both in-person and digitally
- Demonstrated success in motivating, engaging, and influencing others
- Strong research, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Adaptability in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and direction

This role offers comprehensive compensation including base salary and benefits.
