Senior Data Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization operating at significant scale across African markets. Our client processes substantial digital payment volumes and serves millions of users monthly. We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team in Nigeria.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust data pipelines processing large volumes of transactional data
• Optimize the data platform for speed, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand and meet their data requirements
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
• Solve complex data-related problems across the organization

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex data challenges
• Advanced proficiency with SQL
• Proficiency with Python for data engineering tasks
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
• Experience using version control tools such as git
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to have:

• Experience with data governance frameworks
• Experience building and deploying machine learning models
• Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools
