Senior Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential IoT organization in their search for a Senior Solutions Engineer based in London. In this role, you will drive technical success in large and strategic fleet opportunities, working closely with business development and channel teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Serving as a technical subject matter expert, developing comprehensive knowledge of connected vehicle solutions and IoT platforms
• Running technical pre-sales activities including discovery sessions, technical demonstrations, pilots, and proof-of-concepts for enterprise prospects
• Assessing and analyzing prospect business challenges, identifying viable solutions and defining technical approaches to meet those needs
• Developing segment-specific knowledge and contributing to playbooks and knowledge bases for complex opportunities
• Leading strategic projects with partners and third-party integrators to ensure seamless implementation and deployment
• Collaborating with product management teams, providing market and customer feedback to inform product development
• Creating smooth transition plans to channel teams upon customer acquisition to ensure service and solution goals are met
• Identifying methods for automation and standardization of demonstrations and implementations based on segment expertise
• Documenting and tracking opportunities and projects using standard tools (JIRA, Salesforce) to enable communication and workload management
• Mentoring and supporting Solutions Engineers and team members, sharing expertise and best practices

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 5–8 years of experience in a relevant technical field such as Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Engineering Support, Software Development, Automotive Engineering, Data Science, Technical Account Management, or Business Development
• Strong business acumen with a proven ability to drive revenue growth through prospect and pre-sales engagements
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with capacity to assess customer challenges and propose viable solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• A customer-focused mindset with commitment to understanding client needs and delivering exceptional service
• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including sales, product development, and customer support
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Proven track record of successful customer engagements, project management, and team collaboration
• Experience in mentoring, guiding, and leading team members to better solutions
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow technical knowledge to subject matter expert level
• Ability to lead and create training sessions for audiences with varying technical backgrounds
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal guidance while seeking validation on solution proposals
