About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential insurance and investment organization seeking an accomplished Group Chief Financial Officer to lead enterprise-wide financial strategy, capital management, and governance across a diversified group structure. This is a senior executive role based in Bermuda, reporting to the Group CEO and serving as a strategic advisor to the Board and Investment Committee.

Responsibilities

You will assume enterprise-wide accountability for financial performance, strategy, and governance across subsidiaries, business units, and investment entities. Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing group-wide financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives and long-term shareholder value creation
  • Overseeing consolidated P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, capital position, and financial performance across all business lines
  • Leading annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial planning, scenario analysis, and stress testing
  • Providing executive oversight of insurance financial management including premiums, claims, reserves, underwriting results, and profitability metrics
  • Partnering with the Chief Investment Officer on investment strategy, portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk-adjusted returns
  • Directing group capital planning, solvency management, capital optimization, and deployment strategies
  • Overseeing asset-liability management to ensure investment portfolios align with insurance liabilities and liquidity requirements
  • Leading treasury operations, liquidity management, banking relationships, and funding strategies
  • Managing capital-raising initiatives and relationships with institutional investors, banks, and capital-market participants
  • Directing financial evaluation of acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures, and corporate development activities
  • Ensuring accurate consolidated financial reporting, statutory accounts, regulatory returns, and Board reporting
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance and strong governance across insurance, investment, and corporate regulations
  • Establishing financial risk-management frameworks covering market, credit, liquidity, and operational exposures
  • Overseeing group tax planning, compliance, and strategy across multiple jurisdictions
  • Managing relationships with shareholders, investors, rating agencies, regulators, and external auditors
  • Driving finance transformation including systems modernization, automation, and enhanced analytics capabilities
  • Building and leading a high-performing finance organization across the group structure

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience:

  • 18+ years of progressive finance experience with substantial group or enterprise-level leadership
  • Previous experience as Group CFO, CFO, Deputy Group CFO, Group Finance Director, or equivalent executive role
  • Significant background within insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, pensions, reinsurance, or diversified financial services
  • Proven experience managing complex group structures, subsidiaries, investment entities, and regulated businesses
  • Strong understanding of insurance financial reporting, capital and solvency requirements, investment portfolios, and balance-sheet management
  • Demonstrated expertise in capital allocation, treasury, liquidity, financial planning, and enterprise risk
  • Experience working directly with Boards, CEOs, regulators, auditors, investors, and rating agencies

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous Group CFO experience within a diversified insurance or investment group
  • Experience covering both insurance operations and investment/asset-management businesses
  • Exposure to life insurance, general insurance, reinsurance, pensions, or institutional investment
  • Proven track record with M&A, capital raising, restructuring, or international expansion
  • Experience across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent strongly preferred
  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance/Business is advantageous
  • Additional insurance, investment, actuarial, or risk-management qualifications desirable

  • Sophisticated communicator at Board and investor level
