Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential technology organization in Poland seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and support enterprise security infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
In this role, you will:
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network security solutions across diverse infrastructure
- Configure and administer next-generation firewalls including Fortinet, SonicWall, and Palo Alto platforms
- Implement and maintain VPNs, IPS/IDS, web filtering, NAT, ACLs, and network segmentation policies
- Monitor security events using SIEM, XDR, and SOC monitoring platforms to identify threats
- Investigate security incidents, perform threat analysis, and support incident response activities
- Manage firewall policies, security rules, and compliance controls aligned with industry standards
- Implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and identity-based security controls
- Support cloud security initiatives across AWS, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Configure and support SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation activities
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to secure enterprise environments
- Maintain security documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, and audit records
- Participate in on-call rotations and critical incident handling as needed
What We're Looking For
Firewall & Network Security Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate, SonicWall, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Proficiency with VPN technologies (IPSec/SSL VPN), IDS/IPS, Web Application Firewalls, and NAC
- Experience with Check Point, Cisco Firepower/ASA is preferred
Modern Security Technologies:
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and ZTNA implementation
- Experience with SASE, SD-WAN Security, SSE, CASB, and micro-segmentation
- Understanding of secure remote access solutions
SIEM, SOC & Threat Detection:
- Experience with one or more SIEM platforms: Splunk, QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, LogRhythm, ArcSight, or Elastic SIEM
- Knowledge of SOC operations, threat hunting, log correlation, and incident response
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat intelligence integration
Cloud & Infrastructure Security:
- Experience securing AWS and Microsoft Azure environments
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud networking, cloud firewall management, Security Groups/NSGs
- Understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles
Endpoint & Advanced Security:
- Experience with EDR/XDR platforms such as CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, or SentinelOne
- Knowledge of endpoint hardening, DLP, and email security solutions
Networking Fundamentals:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, DNS/DHCP
- Experience with load balancing and network troubleshooting
Automation & Scripting (Preferred):
- Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting for security automation
- Experience with SOAR platforms is a plus
Certifications (Preferred):
- Fortinet NSE/FCP, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, CCNP Security, CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC certifications, or AWS Security Specialty
Education & Soft Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field preferred
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities
- Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement
