Working Student – IT Support & Systems

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential quantum computing organization based in the Munich area, is seeking a Working Student to support IT operations and end-user systems. You will serve as the first point of contact for colleagues requiring IT assistance, ensuring smooth day-to-day technology operations.

In this role, you will:

• Provide 1st level IT support for employees, troubleshooting common hardware, software, and access issues
• Support hardware procurement activities including ordering, tracking, and preparing laptops, monitors, and accessories
• Manage the complete equipment lifecycle from initial setup for new starters through to collection and reset for departing employees
• Support IT onboarding and offboarding processes, including account creation, access provisioning, device configuration, and welcome setup
• Handle day-to-day Microsoft 365 administration tasks such as mailboxes, distribution lists, and Teams/SharePoint access management
• Maintain accurate and current IT documentation including user guides, inventory lists, and onboarding checklists
• Collaborate with IT colleagues on more complex issues and escalate appropriately when needed

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an IT-related degree program such as Computer Science or Information Systems (any semester)
• Genuine interest in IT infrastructure and how systems work
• Basic computer literacy with Windows or macOS and solid troubleshooting instincts
• Ability to learn new tools quickly and ask questions when clarification is needed
• Reliable and organized approach with clear communication skills when working with colleagues without IT backgrounds
• Location: Garching bei München, Germany (on-site/hybrid)

Preferred qualifications:

• Hobby-level experience with Windows or macOS troubleshooting, home networking, or similar activities
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools such as Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
• Interest in developing into a junior or full System Administrator role over time
