OT Security Engineer Biogasanlagen mit Homeoffice (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization seeking an OT Security Engineer to secure and advance operational technology environments at biogas facilities. You will work from Lohne (Oldenburg), Niedersachsen, with 50% home office flexibility.

Your responsibilities include:

• Securing and technically advancing OT environments at biogas plant locations
• Developing and implementing OT security concepts for industrial control systems
• Participating in vulnerability and risk management for operational technology and adjacent IT systems
• Designing network segmentation, zone models, and secure access architectures
• Implementing and optimizing remote access solutions for external partners and service teams
• Contributing to backup, restore, and emergency recovery concepts for production-critical systems
• Coordinating with plant operations, IT teams, functional departments, and external service providers
• Maintaining technical documentation, security measures, and operational processes

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a technically skilled professional with several years of experience in IT, OT, automation engineering, control systems, or industrial security. The ideal candidate brings:

• Strong understanding of industrial systems such as PLCs, SCADA, HMI, control systems, or remote monitoring technology
• Practical experience with segmentation, secure remote access, and backup/restore strategies
• Hands-on experience in OT-adjacent infrastructure roles, such as OT Security Engineer, ICS Security Engineer, Automation Engineer, or Network Engineer
• Familiarity with IEC 62443 and ISO 27001 standards (preferred)
• Very good German language skills and good English for technical coordination
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to travel approximately 20%
