About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential consumer subscription business in their search for a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to join their Technology team. This is a remote role open to candidates outside the United States only.
You will serve as the critical link between finance operations and technology, supporting NetSuite-based financial systems that power a fast-growing digital business. This organization is adopting AI across its operations and expects you to bring AI fluency to continuously automate manual finance processes.
Responsibilities
As the Senior Financial Systems Analyst, you will:
- Business process and analysis: Serve as the functional expert for financial processes in NetSuite including record-to-report, procure-to-pay, revenue recognition, and inventory and cost accounting. Gather and challenge requirements from Finance and Accounting, then translate them into functional specifications with clear, testable acceptance criteria. Document current-state processes and identify automation opportunities. Own user acceptance testing with complete test plans and sign-off before production deployment.
- AI and intelligent automation: Identify and deliver AI-driven improvements across financial processes such as document capture and coding, anomaly detection, reconciliation assistance, and close acceleration. Evaluate and adopt native ERP AI capabilities including text enhancement, bill capture, intelligent forecasting, and analytics assistants. Use AI in your daily work for analysis, documentation, drafting saved searches and specifications, generating test cases, and troubleshooting. Partner with technology leadership on AI guardrails for financial data including accuracy validation, audit traceability, and data handling.
- Coordination and delivery: Route and prioritize work with managed services partners and in-house developers. Assist with development and management of interfaces with external platforms and custom systems. Manage the financial systems request queue including intake, triage, prioritization, and status communication. Hold managed services partners accountable to scope, quality, and timelines. Perform configuration, saved searches, reports, dashboards, and minor field or form changes. Assess semiannual ERP releases for business impact and coordinate regression testing.
- User support and enablement: Act as the first point of contact for financial system users. Triage issues, resolve what you can, and escalate complex cases. Write and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials. Run onboarding and refresher sessions for the finance organization. Track recurring issues and convert them into permanent fixes.
- Reporting and data: Build and maintain saved searches, analytics workbooks, and financial reports that give Finance and leadership a reliable, self-service view of the business. Monitor integrations between the ERP and ecommerce platforms, payment processors, warehouse systems, banks, tax engines, and the data warehouse. Surface breaks early and drive them to resolution. Support bulk data operations with reconciliations that prove accuracy. Support internal and external audit requests, ITGC and application control testing, and evidence gathering.
- Projects and roadmap: Represent Technology on financial systems initiatives including module rollouts, new entity onboarding, chart of accounts changes, and evaluations of new applications. Contribute to the multi-year financial systems roadmap alongside Finance and technology leadership.
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a financial systems, ERP analyst, or systems accountant role; 10+ years strongly preferred
- Expert-level NetSuite skills (required): deep functional command of financial modules plus hands-on fluency with saved searches, reports and dashboards, custom records and fields, workflow automation, and analytics; NetSuite certification is a plus
- Strong command of core accounting: general ledger and chart of accounts, AP and AR, subledgers, accruals, allocations, month-end and year-end close, and deferred revenue
- Familiarity with financial controls, audit support, ITGCs, and segregation of duties
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
- Must be located outside the United States; no U.S.-based applications will be considered
Bonus qualifications:
- Additional ERP and financial systems experience: Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle Fusion, Workday Financials, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable platforms, plus adjacent tools such as Coupa, BILL, Avalara, Vertex, Ramp, Brex, Expensify, FloQast, or BlackLine
- Familiarity with integration and iPaaS platforms such as Celigo, Boomi, Workato, or custom REST integrations, and comfort reasoning about data flows across systems
- Experience working with external implementation or managed services partners and managing their deliverables
- SQL and advanced spreadsheet skills for analysis, reconciliation, and validation
- Experience in ecommerce, DTC, subscription billing, and consumer products is a strong plus
- You reach for AI first when facing a blank page, a messy dataset, or an unfamiliar error, and you know when to verify AI-generated answers, especially with financial data
What sets you apart:
- You bridge the gap between finance and technology. You can hold deep finance and accounting discussions and translate them into technical language, either implementing solutions yourself or explaining requirements to development partners. You explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders without jargon or condescension.
- You get things done, driving your own work and partnering with internal team members and outside partners without formal authority over either.
- You're a relentless troubleshooter who pulls the thread until you find the actual root cause. You're not satisfied with a workaround that quietly becomes permanent.
- You prefer the simple solution: configure rather than script, script rather than integrate, because someone will be maintaining it in three years.
- You're calm during close, understanding that close is a critical period and you plan around it rather than experimenting during it.
- You document by instinct, leaving things better explained than you found them.
- You're curious about the business, not just the system. You want to know why a transaction behaves the way it does, not only where the record lives.
