Level 2 NOC Systems Administrator – Network Focus

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology services organization seeking a Level 2 NOC Systems Administrator with Network Focus to join their 24×7 Network Operations Center. This role provides advanced network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident remediation across a multi-location infrastructure environment.

As part of our client's NOC team, you will handle escalations from Level 1 analysts, perform deeper network diagnostics, and ensure the reliability of critical network infrastructure supporting cyber backup operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced monitoring and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers in a 24×7 environment
• Support network configuration tasks including interface changes, VLAN updates, and routing adjustments within defined credential scope
• Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity issues across host environments and connectivity layers
• Conduct daily monitoring of network devices, bandwidth, link health, and alert systems
• Initiate proactive remediation to prevent outages and performance degradation
• Own Level 2 network tickets through resolution, including root cause identification and documentation
• Escalate unresolved issues to the Level 3 Network Lead with detailed findings
• Provide network evaluation reports and contribute to operational improvements
• Update network configuration records, diagrams, and device inventories while ensuring compliance with access control policies
• Create runbooks and how-to guides for Level 1 analysts and provide training on network triage procedures

What We're Looking For

• BA/BS degree and 2–4 years of relevant network administration experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and monitoring tools
• Ability to support 24×7 operations on rotating shifts, including weekends
• U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required (this role may require access to export-controlled technology)
• Experience diagnosing complex connectivity issues across multiple network layers
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure including routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to create knowledge transfer materials
• Willingness to work one of the following shift schedules:

Shift Options:

• Shift 1: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM EST
• Shift 2: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM EST
• Shift 3: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM EST
• Weekend Shift 1: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST (plus 16 additional weekday hours)
• Weekend Shift 2: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM EST (plus 16 additional weekday hours)
