About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential EdTech organization that develops advanced technical training programs. Our talent team is seeking a Subject Matter Expert to design curriculum for a forward-deployed AI engineering program targeting experienced production engineers.
This is a fully remote, part-time role based in the Netherlands, requiring approximately 20 hours per week. You'll work asynchronously with a distributed team to create hands-on learning experiences for senior and staff engineers transitioning into client-facing AI deployment roles.
Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end student projects including scope definition, learning objectives, technical infrastructure, environments, and supporting databases or datasets
- Write clear submission guidelines and assessment rubrics that enable consistent evaluation by reviewers
- Collaborate with Learning Experience Designers to ensure projects and lessons are educationally sound, properly paced, and appropriately calibrated for difficulty
- Research, evaluate, and approve technical solutions and tooling to keep curriculum aligned with current industry practices
- Support commercial teams by training them on course content and graduate capabilities
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience at senior level or above (Senior/Lead/Staff Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or technical lead on customer-facing delivery)
- Direct ownership of end-to-end deployments in real client or enterprise environments, from initial engagement through production go-live and adoption
- Hands-on experience with databases and infrastructure required for running student projects (cloud environments, containers, version control, CI/CD)
- Ability to decompose complex technical work into well-scoped, assessable tasks with defined difficulty levels
- Excellent written communication skills in English for creating clear, unambiguous instructional content
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with instructional designers and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Background in mentoring, teaching, tutoring, or code review
- Preferred: Prior EdTech or assessment design experience
