Adaptive Physical Education Teacher – Online (Louisiana)

Overview

Our talent team is representing a confidential online education organization seeking an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide virtual services to special education students in Louisiana. This is a 1099 independent contractor position serving students through remote instruction and evaluation.

In this role, you will deliver adaptive physical education services to eligible students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You'll conduct virtual evaluations, provide direct instruction, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support students in developing motor skills and physical fitness within home and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct adaptive physical education evaluations and reevaluations for students with disabilities
• Review educational records, assessment data, medical information, and therapy reports
• Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and present findings to IEP teams
• Provide virtual direct adaptive physical education services per IEP requirements
• Develop individualized goals and objectives tailored to each student's needs
• Consult with families, teachers, therapists, and service providers on modifications and adaptive strategies
• Participate in eligibility, evaluation, annual review, and reevaluation meetings
• Maintain service logs, progress monitoring data, and compliance documentation
• Monitor and report student progress toward IEP goals
• Utilize virtual platforms and technology tools to deliver effective remote services
• Maintain professional work environment and dependable schedule

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience providing Adaptive Physical Education services to students with disabilities in educational settings
• Valid teaching certificate in accordance with Louisiana state requirements
• Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) Adapted Physical Education Endorsement
• Experience conducting evaluations, records reviews, and developing individualized recommendations
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and participating in the IEP process
• Must reside in the United States
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Ability to maintain all required credentials and endorsements throughout contract duration

Preferred:

• Experience providing services in virtual, online, or remote educational environments
• Experience conducting virtual evaluations, consultations, and direct services
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and virtual meeting platforms
