Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential publishing client in India seeking a Technical Editor. This role focuses on ensuring technical accuracy and quality control for educational technology content. You will partner with authors and editorial teams to deliver high-quality learning materials that help IT professionals develop new skills.

As Technical Editor, you own the technical accuracy of products from first draft through publication. This is an editorial quality-control position ideal for methodical thinkers with strong code-testing abilities and excellent technical skills. You will provide constructive feedback to content creators and ensure all code examples, screenshots, and technical references meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Test all code in products and code bundles to ensure technical accuracy and consistency
• Follow along with all examples and steps in content to verify technical correctness
• Address technical concerns including code architecture, approach, references, and screenshots
• Verify code indentation accuracy and consistency throughout content
• Perform quality checks on code-related reviews, errata, and repository issues
• Manage book repositories and resolve reader queries alongside customer care teams
• Function as a reader advocate from a technical perspective
• Work with technical reviewers to ensure content and code accuracy
• Provide technical health checks to facilitate accurate planning and time allocation
• Apply style guidelines to content and ensure proper formatting
• Conduct user research and market analysis to elevate your work
• Research technology innovations to deepen knowledge in your vertical's topic area
• Monitor market changes that could impact product delivery or success
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback to content creators using appropriate tone
• Build positive yet challenging relationships with authors and contributors

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Good working knowledge of at least one technology domain with ability to test code and examples
• Rigorous attention to detail with proven track record of ensuring content quality, accuracy, and consistency
• Strong ability to interpret and convey complex technical concepts clearly for diverse audiences
• Ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar technologies for testing and evaluation
• Skill in building relationships with authors and providing constructive feedback
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements in quality-control processes
• Adaptability to quickly changing requirements in fast-paced environments
• Experience with GitHub repository management
