Chargeback Analyst (Max $19/hr W2)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking a Chargeback Analyst for a fully remote contract position. Our client processes payment disputes and cardholder claims, requiring meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with customer service experience who wants to build expertise in payment processing and dispute resolution.

The role offers flexible scheduling options (all times in your local timezone): 7:00am–3:30pm, 7:30am–4:00pm, 8:00am–4:30pm, or 8:30am–5:00pm. Extension or conversion to permanent employment may be possible based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Review electronic documentation to identify and validate transaction details for dispute cases
• Process incoming fraud and non-fraud cardholder dispute cases within designated processing platforms
• Research and resolve cardholder claims of fraud and error while ensuring compliance with card association and regulatory guidelines
• Process chargebacks and coordinate funds recovery efforts within required timeframes
• Maintain confidentiality and quality standards while handling sensitive financial information
• Mitigate loss exposure while maintaining high productivity and accuracy levels
• Provide professional service to cardholders and partner organizations
• Manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience required
• At least one (1) year working in payments industry preferred
• General knowledge of card brand processing (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) preferred
• Strong reading comprehension and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to explain complex information clearly
• Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities
• Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when making decisions
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
• Comfortable working under pressure in a complex, fast-paced setting
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
