Senior Software Developer III

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Senior Software Developer III for a fully remote position based in Colombia. Our client is a global leader in financial software with a strong track record of innovation and a large international user base.

In this role, you will operate as a technical leader, shaping architecture for AI-driven systems, mentoring developers, and delivering production-grade solutions with end-to-end accountability. You'll work with cutting-edge agentic AI technologies, LLM services, and cloud-native infrastructure while partnering closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate agentic AI systems including LLM services, retrieval pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, and agent execution runtimes with full production accountability
• Own LLMOps infrastructure: build harnesses, pipelines, and systems that ensure reliability for non-deterministic AI systems in production
• Develop and maintain automated evaluation infrastructure that continuously monitors offline and online metrics, alerting on drift or regression
• Build memory infrastructure for agent systems including storage, retrieval, and promotion/demotion mechanics
• Implement technical controls, telemetry, and guardrails that enforce compliance frameworks in the architecture itself
• Create architecture proposals and prototypes that deliver business value while aligning with long-term platform vision
• Lead engineering proof-of-concepts and translate architectural decisions into production implementations
• Partner with architects and tech leads to define and execute product roadmap initiatives
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive improvements in reliability, observability, and incident response
• Mentor developers through design reviews, AI-assisted development sessions, and feedback on engineering practices
• Facilitate technical discussions across teams and represent the engineering organization to stakeholders
• Evaluate and integrate third-party LLMOps and evaluation platforms where appropriate
• Champion proposals through all SDLC phases from design through production deployment

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated impact beyond a single team
• 2+ years building and operating production AI systems with understanding of latency, cost, accuracy, and reliability trade-offs
• Experience with agent frameworks, agent memory systems, or orchestration of tool-using AI systems
• Production AWS experience including Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform)
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale
• Strong software fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and advocacy for code quality
• Experience with agentic-AI software development practices
• Experience designing and consuming well-designed HTTP APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar)
• Track record of mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to operate in fast-moving environments
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience implementing AI guardrails, governance controls, and translating compliance frameworks into technical controls
• Experience evaluating and integrating third-party ML/LLMOps platforms with sound buy vs. build judgment
• Experience with retrieval systems (RAG), embedding pipelines, or hybrid search
• LLMOps experience: evaluation harnesses, automated metric comparison, drift and regression alerting
• Experience operating systems in regulated or compliance-heavy domains
• Familiarity with accounting, auditing, or financial workflows

• Use AI-assisted development tools as a standard part of daily workflow
• Critically evaluate and take ownership of all AI-generated output before shipping
• Lead rollout of new AI-assisted workflows and tooling within the team
• Mentor other developers on effective, responsible use of AI development tools
• Help establish team practices and guardrails for using AI tools safely
