Senior Consultant – Veeva Vault Safety – Japan & PMDA

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential life sciences technology organization seeking a Senior Consultant - Drug Safety & Pharmacovigilance with expertise in Japan regulatory requirements and PMDA reporting. This is a remote, full-time role based in India supporting global pharmaceutical clients implementing cloud-based safety solutions.

We're looking for an experienced safety professional who can lead implementation workshops, design solutions, and guide biopharmaceutical customers through system deployments. You'll act as a subject matter expert bridging business requirements with technical configuration teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead business workshops to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements for drug safety system implementations
• Design solutions based on customer needs and industry best practices, thinking critically about both stated and unstated requirements
• Collaborate closely with configuration teams to develop and deliver safety solutions on a cloud platform
• Serve as the primary liaison between implementation teams, customer stakeholders, and internal product groups
• Provide expert guidance on data migration activities and validation approaches
• Drive change management methodology as customers transition from on-premises to SaaS solutions
• Ensure adoption of platform capabilities and industry best practices focused on customer success
• Support Japanese-speaking customers and address Japan-specific regulatory requirements including Japan Green Book and PMDA safety reporting

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of life sciences industry experience, with majority of time in Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance domain
• Previous consulting or implementation experience
• Strong understanding of Japan Green Book and PMDA safety reporting requirements
• Japanese language proficiency preferred; ability to communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders
• Deep knowledge of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance processes and regulations
• Proven experience writing complex SQL queries on safety datasets
• Hands-on implementation experience with safety systems such as Aris, Argus, Emperica, Commonwealth, RxLogix, or similar platforms
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Track record working as an individual contributor
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and deliver high satisfaction outcomes
• Exposure to life sciences compliance and computer systems validation requirements
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of project time
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice to have:

• JLPT N2/N1 or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency
• Experience supporting global system implementation programs as consultant, business lead, or IT lead
• Experience building aggregate and analytical reports on safety datasets
• Direct experience with Argus or similar drug safety applications
• SQL/PLSQL programming experience
• Life science, computer science, or related degree
• SaaS/Cloud platform experience
• Services delivery management or systems implementation background
