About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential K-12 education organization that operates charter schools across the United States. Our client is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to support school-level adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This remote position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable workflows for school teams.
Please note: Applicants in New York, California, and Colorado are not eligible for this position.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance calendars, evidence requirements, submissions, and corrective-action plans across multiple school locations
- Monitor student data systems, document management, and compliance protocols for enrollment and attendance
- Translate regulatory requirements into practical checklists, workflows, training materials, and internal controls
- Track school completion of compliance training and provide technical support for the training platform
- Compile and analyze internal and external data to prepare compliance audit materials, including review of school websites, policies, and procedures
- Monitor existing and emerging legislation and advise school leadership on necessary compliance actions
- Coordinate internal compliance data collection across departments
- Support preparation and submission of authorizations, partnership renewals, and new school proposals
- Maintain audit trails, issue logs, decision records, and corrective-action documentation
- Provide professional development and ongoing resources to school leaders on compliance guidelines and standards
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of student data compliance, monitoring, corrective action, and reporting
- Experience: Prior work in a school setting preferred; experience managing law and regulation compliance in educational environments strongly preferred
- Process Documentation: Demonstrated experience creating and documenting procedures and workflows
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to explain complex regulations clearly
- Judgment: Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and make sound decisions after gathering all available information
- Work Style: Reliable, dependable, and trustworthy; able to work independently and contribute to team efforts
- Pressure Management: Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
- Customer Service: Service-oriented approach when working with school teams and stakeholders
- Adaptability: Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study and professional training
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Background Check: Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000. Factors affecting placement within this range include geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; life insurance; long-term and short-term disability insurance; 10 paid holidays annually; and paid time off for sick, vacation, and personal absences. The client offers four health insurance plans with varying deductibles and co-insurance levels.
