Atlassian Expert Jira & Confluence (Freelance mogelijk)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential organization in Belgium that needs an experienced Atlassian expert to bring structure and efficiency to their Jira and Confluence environment. This is a short-term, high-impact engagement focused on coaching teams, establishing governance, and enabling autonomous operation.

You will:

• Coach and guide teams in effective use of Jira and Confluence
• Quickly analyze the current setup and identify concrete improvement opportunities
• Design pragmatic, scalable workflows, permission schemes, and governance models
• Establish intake, triage, and change processes aligned with business, IT, and service management contexts including ITSM and development environments
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders at operational and executive levels
• Document best practices and establish minimal documentation standards
• Ensure sustainable knowledge transfer so teams can continue independently after your engagement
• Coach and support Atlassian experts and administrators in their daily work

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 10 years of experience within the Atlassian ecosystem
• Deep expertise in Jira and Confluence, including configuration, workflow design, scheme setup, and governance
• Demonstrated experience with intake, triage, and change processes
• Comfortable working in agile environments and contexts where ITSM and development must be aligned
• Experience with coaching, team enablement, and knowledge transfer
• Proven ability to work in complex organizations such as enterprise environments and/or public sector
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Track record of short, impactful engagements where you deliver quick improvements with structural anchoring
• Scrum Master certification is a plus
• Higher education (bachelor or master) with technical or engineering background, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable experience with the required technologies or comparable platforms
• Dutch proficiency at CEFR level C2; English required; French is a plus
