Engagement Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in the research infrastructure sector, seeking a fully remote Engagement Lead based in the United States. Our talent team is working with a mission-driven organization that connects researchers globally and is looking for an experienced professional to drive community growth and membership development across North America.

This is a full-time remote position requiring availability during eastern US standard business hours (Monday-Friday), with at least four hours daily between 9:00 AM-2:00 PM ET. Some recurring meetings occur between 10:00 AM-1:00 PM ET, with schedule flexibility outside these core hours.

Responsibilities

• Foster and manage relationships with members and stakeholders across North America to ensure renewals and drive new membership development
• Identify, develop, and close new membership opportunities while increasing integration depth and diversity
• Coordinate member support requests in collaboration with internal teams to ensure high satisfaction and value delivery
• Engage with consortium lead organizations through regular meetings and strategic planning to advance organizational mission and grow adoption
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership regarding assigned members and regions
• Build global communities of practice within assigned segments and regions
• Define and execute outreach initiatives, collaborating across teams as needed
• Present and represent the organization at in-person and virtual events, managing travel logistics and abstract submissions
• Follow established processes while identifying opportunities for operational improvement
• Participate in cross-team initiatives and projects to support shared organizational goals

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in consultative business development, account management, or externally facing product-related roles
• Proven track record developing and maintaining new organizational relationships
• 2+ years of experience working within the scholarly community, ideally in open research or open scholarly infrastructure
• Experience setting, coordinating, and achieving strategic goals with external partners
• Experience working in global, multicultural, and virtual team environments
• Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of CRM tools such as Salesforce
• Ability to handle multiple projects and balance competing priorities
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
• Ability to travel based on business needs (less than 25%)
