About the Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the educational furniture industry who is seeking a Business Development Manager to cover North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. This is a remote position, but you must reside within the assigned territory.

Our talent team is looking for a professional with proven K-12 furniture sales experience who can build and maintain dealer networks, develop relationships with architects and interior designers, and drive revenue growth across a multi-state region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a network of dealer partners, architects, interior designers, and end-user clients focused on K-12 furniture sales
  • Complete sales quotes and freight quotes within the company's systems
  • Conduct face-to-face, needs-based consultative selling to help customers achieve their goals using the client's product portfolio
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of competitor strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to drive balanced growth across product categories
  • Build multi-level relationships with accounts to promote and sell furniture solutions to existing and potential customers
  • Own the end-to-end customer relationship experience, from initial solutions through problem-solving and follow-up
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction through understanding of fulfillment processes and programs
  • Identify new leads by staying current on market conditions and trends
  • Communicate and report weekly on territory performance, account plans, and related information
  • Continuously upgrade skills and product knowledge

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant sales experience in the K-12 furniture industry with strong understanding of sales principles
  • Familiarity with business relationship management (BRM) and CRM practices
  • Proven ability to build productive business relationships
  • Highly motivated and target-driven with a documented track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Outstanding selling, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong prioritization, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 20 lbs.
  • Must reside in NC, SC, VA, or TN
