(Senior) DevOps Engineer (m/f/x)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their dedicated team in Berlin. In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of infrastructure and DevOps processes across the entire stack.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Operating and expanding Kubernetes clusters, including node setup, upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting, and application testing
• Onboarding development teams onto the container platform and managing Docker-based solutions
• Maintaining and developing CI/CD environments with pipeline management, runners, and integrations
• Implementing GitOps-based delivery workflows using tools like ArgoCD or Flux
• Provisioning and configuration management through Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems with systematic troubleshooting
• Setting up and operating observability stacks including ELK, TIG, and Grafana with dashboards and alerting
• Analyzing and optimizing networks, conducting log file analysis, and performing root cause analysis including complex packet-level incidents
• Implementing security measures at application and infrastructure levels, plus security gates in pipelines (SAST, dependency scanning, secrets detection, SBOM generation, artifact signing)

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates with:

• A degree in computer science, STEM subject, or equivalent qualification through several years of professional experience
• Strong Linux skills and solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, MTU/routing) with proven troubleshooting ability
• At least 3 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments, along with container technologies (Docker/OCI)
• Hands-on depth with GitLab CI/CD or comparable systems, and with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux
• Practical experience automating infrastructure and configuration as code with Terraform and Ansible
• Excellent analytical and debugging skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach
• A collaborative mindset with strong documentation and knowledge-sharing practices

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, Azure, AWS, or GCP) and migration projects
• Familiarity with DevSecOps toolchains such as SonarQube, Sonatype Lifecycle, Trivy, or Cosign/Sigstore

The position is based in Berlin and follows a hybrid work model requiring office presence at least three days per week. English is the working language.
