Business Strategist – France

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential defense technology organization expanding its commercial operations across Europe. We're seeking a Business Strategist based in Paris to build market presence from the ground up within the French defense ecosystem.

This role requires navigating complex B2G sales cycles, building trusted relationships across military and government stakeholders, and translating technical capabilities into operational value. You'll own the complete journey from initial engagement through pilot programs to contract execution.

Responsibilities

• Build market presence by identifying the right units, partners, champions, and procurement pathways within the French defense sector
• Own the complete sales cycle from first engagement through experimentation, pilot, and contract closure
• Identify and shape strategic opportunities before formal procurement processes begin
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships across the defense ecosystem, including operational units, industrial partners, and government stakeholders
• Navigate politically sensitive B2G sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, security clearances, RFIs, RFPs, and public procurement regulations
• Translate complex software capabilities into language that resonates with procurement officers, general staffs, and program leadership
• Collaborate with product and operational teams to convert field validation into commercial traction
• Work with a Europe-wide team to unlock strategic opportunities across armed forces and defense organizations

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience selling into armed forces, ministries of defense, or highly regulated B2G markets with long sales cycles
• Top-performing sales history with a clear track record of personally closing two to three large-size deals
• Demonstrated ability to build pipeline and market presence from near-zero without established playbooks
• Technical curiosity and ability to understand complex software products sufficiently to translate them into operational and commercial value
• Empathy for military users and their mission requirements
• EU citizenship (contractual requirement)
• Fluency in French and English

Preferred qualifications:

• Existing relationships within defense ministries, armed forces, or NATO-adjacent institutions
• Prior experience at a defense technology or dual-use startup
• Background in military service or related government roles

Pay
