About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization in their search for a Senior Business Automation Developer to join their International Expansion team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely within Germany or from offices in Cologne, Darmstadt, Düsseldorf, or Berlin.
Our client is expanding their online marketplace into new international markets and needs an automation specialist who can transform manual business processes into scalable, self-service solutions. You'll be at the intersection of business operations, AI-driven automation, and technical implementation.
Responsibilities
- Transform business processes into automated, self-service solutions from discovery through rollout, partnering closely with business departments to analyze and redesign existing workflows
- Design and optimize AI-driven solutions with hands-on expertise in modern LLMs and the surrounding ecosystem to ensure reliable performance at scale
- Collaborate with internal Centers of Excellence to propose, prioritize, and lead initiatives that improve automation and AI platforms
- Work cross-functionally with technical experts, product managers, and business leaders to share best practices, document patterns, and enable self-service automation across the organization
- Define and track metrics that demonstrate automation effectiveness and continuously optimize against them
What We're Looking For
- Product mindset with experience in product ownership or agile project management, including gathering requirements, prioritizing backlogs, and balancing quick wins with long-term scalability
- Proactive problem solver who identifies bottlenecks and proposes scalable, user-centric solutions rather than simply taking orders
- Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms
- Comfortable integrating SaaS tools and internal systems via APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven patterns
- Experience with prompt engineering and building AI Agents is a plus
- Strong communicator able to explain technical trade-offs to both business and engineering stakeholders and create concise documentation and playbooks
- Fluent English (C1 level) required; German skills (B2 level) are a plus
- Comfortable working in an international, cross-functional environment
