About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential medical technology organization based in München that is developing advanced AI solutions for surgical workflows. We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer specializing in video AI to join their innovative platform team.
In this role, you will develop and deploy machine learning applications that analyze video and sensor data to improve clinical procedures. You will work closely with software developers and ML engineers to build services that extract meaningful insights and enable smarter, more efficient workflows. Your work will leverage modern ML training platforms and strong software engineering skills to drive innovation in intelligent assistance tools and automation.
Responsibilities
- Develop learning-based solutions for medical data analysis tasks with a focus on surgical video processing, including event detection, image segmentation, and object detection
- Participate in all phases of the machine learning development lifecycle, from requirements engineering and data processing through experimentation, model development, training, and deployment
- Push the limits of intelligent software components for procedure analysis, leveraging growing volumes of video data
- Shape the development and productization of AI-based video solutions for medical use cases
- Contribute creative ideas and work independently to impact the daily work of medical professionals globally
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, natural sciences, or similar background
- 3+ years of professional experience using modern machine learning methods and computer vision approaches to solve challenging image processing problems
- Experience with state-of-the-art ML tooling including experiment management, containerization, orchestration, processing pipelines, and data version control
- Demonstrated experience developing complex software systems in Python and/or other programming languages
- Experience gained through industrial projects or PhD work in a relevant area
- Knowledge of cloud-based computing environments (AWS preferred) is a plus
- Experience working on AI-based products in the medical technology industry is a plus
- Location: München with hybrid work model within Germany
