Engineering Team Lead, Mistral Cloud

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI infrastructure organization building sovereign cloud solutions for enterprise clients across Europe. Our talent team is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to own the systems powering European cloud infrastructure for finance, healthcare, and public sector deployments. This is a hands-on technical leadership role based in Paris.

You will design and ship the platform layer that enables frontier AI deployments, spending the majority of your time in code, architecture decisions, and solving the hardest technical problems. You'll lead a small engineering squad while partnering with Product Managers to deliver systems that customers depend on. This role shapes how infrastructure scales from current footprint to gigawatt-level capacity across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure systems, writing Go code alongside your team and owning architecture and critical implementation decisions
• Run Kubernetes in production and manage platform reliability, making technical calls during critical incidents and mentoring engineers through your approach
• Own delivery of your team's roadmap with the reliability and performance enterprise workloads require
• Build and develop engineers by setting ownership standards, removing obstacles, and pushing team members beyond their comfort zones
• Partner with Product Managers to set priorities, scope initiatives, and make technical and business tradeoffs
• Define team processes and execution rituals that scale with platform growth
• Raise engineering standards across the organization through code review, mentoring, and knowledge sharing

What We're Looking For

• Production experience shipping systems in Go—not exploratory work, but shipped production code
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production environments and understanding underlying infrastructure layers
• Direct Linux systems experience, not solely managed services
• T-shaped technical profile: deep expertise in one area (storage, networking, or observability preferred) with strong understanding across the full stack
• 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems
• At least 2 years leading engineering teams
• Track record partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software reaching real users
• Developer-focused mindset—you write code that other engineers depend on rather than managing infrastructure operationally
• Low-ego, team-first approach with strong collaborative skills
