Senior Product Designer (B2B SaaS Startup)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing, VC-backed B2B SaaS startup based in Berlin that applies AI to solve complex compliance challenges in international trade. Our client has achieved 3x growth over the past 12 months and works with leading enterprise customers. They need a Senior Product Designer who can own the complete design cycle—from user problem to shipped product—with minimal handoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own the full design loop: take user problems from initial concept through to shipped interface, partnering closely with engineering throughout
• Leverage AI tools as a force multiplier while applying strong editorial judgment to know when AI-generated outputs need refinement
• Design from first principles rather than defaulting to component libraries, solving for the right interaction pattern for each user problem
• Craft pixel-perfect details that build user trust, especially critical in compliance-focused products
• Work in small, focused pods with direct accountability—typically 2-3 people with no layers between design and implementation
• Measure success by user outcomes and metrics moved, not screens delivered
• Stretch beyond traditional design boundaries: read API documentation, engage users directly, and build in code when it's faster than prototyping

What We're Looking For

• Proven design craft with a portfolio showing shipped interfaces that users navigated without explanation, ideally with measurable impact
• Strong visual sensibility with exceptional attention to detail and high standards
• Range across design, product, and engineering: ability to move from user problem to testable prototype independently, without waiting for detailed briefs
• Experience using AI coding tools to build functional prototypes—you're not dependent on engineers to realize your vision
• Established personal AI workflows that make you meaningfully faster, with judgment to know when to trust, edit, or reject AI output
• Comfort with ambiguity: you ship, collect feedback, and iterate rather than waiting for perfect clarity
• Experience with B2B SaaS products, ideally in domains where accuracy matters (fintech, healthtech, logistics, compliance)
• Fluency in English (C1+) required; German (C1) is a plus
• Based in Berlin or willing to relocate
• Portfolio or work samples required

This role is not the right fit if you: prefer clear handoffs between PM, design, and engineering; resist working in code or with AI tools; or measure success by deliverables rather than outcomes.
