Senior Project Management Officer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization in Berlin that is seeking a Senior Project Management Officer to strengthen their project delivery capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse IT projects while developing and maintaining professional project management standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent support to project leads and the project management office in daily operations
• Prepare, coordinate, moderate, and independently conduct working sessions, status meetings, and client appointments
• Track and escalate open action items and measures across multiple projects
• Assume deputy project leadership responsibilities, and occasionally full project leadership
• Ensure quality assurance and reporting across projects, including deriving management needs from project metrics
• Conduct quality management sessions with project leads
• Develop and refine PMO processes, methodologies, and templates while ensuring compliance
• Contribute to training new consultants in project management through onboarding, training sessions, and workshops

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in project environments, including substantial experience in PMO or project management roles
• Knowledge of standard project management methodologies and tools
• Certification in IPMA, PMP, or agile frameworks is ideal
• Strong German language skills (minimum C1 level) for client-facing communication
• Proficiency with MS Office and Microsoft 365 suite
• Comfortable working in IT environments
• Conscientious, meticulous, and structured work approach with strong prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities with a confident, friendly presence
• Ability to handle escalations with composure
• Analytical and conceptual thinking with fundamental understanding of project calculations
• Experience with risk management and quality gates
• Confident presence in complex organizational structures with clear, binding communication
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools in project work
• Advantageous: industry knowledge in housing/real estate or experience in enterprise software environments
