Our talent team is representing a confidential client in the visual technology sector. They're seeking a Product ML Engineer to embed within product teams and drive focused machine learning projects from concept through production deployment.

This is a hands-on role for engineers who care about shipping features that reach real users. You'll work on scoped ML problems with clear business outcomes, choosing the most pragmatic path—whether that means fine-tuning models, integrating external APIs, or building custom solutions. Your time horizon is weeks, not quarters, and success is measured by user impact.

Location: Paris, France (hybrid working arrangement)
Experience Level: 2+ years shipping ML-powered products into production

Responsibilities

• Embed directly within product teams to tackle focused ML challenges tied to customer and revenue outcomes
• Own ML projects end-to-end: frame problems, select approaches, execute implementation, ship features, and monitor production performance
• Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions—determine when to fine-tune internal models versus leveraging external APIs or libraries
• Move rapidly from concept to production, working on projects scoped in weeks rather than months
• Collaborate with ML infrastructure teams while maintaining focus on product priorities and delivery cadence
• Gather user feedback, monitor feature usage, and drive iterative improvements based on real-world performance
• Write production-quality code directly in product codebases, not just experimental notebooks
• Design sound evaluation frameworks and investigate performance issues in live systems
• Balance technical depth with shipping velocity—know when deeper modeling work adds value versus when existing solutions suffice

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years hands-on experience building and deploying ML-powered products to production environments
• Strong proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or equivalent deep learning frameworks
• Applied science depth: ability to fine-tune vision or diffusion models, design meaningful evaluations, and debug training processes
• Product-minded approach—you measure success through shipped features and business impact, not just technical metrics
• Comfort working in production codebases with strong software engineering practices
• Strong ownership mentality: ability to take ambiguous problems, define solutions, and drive them to completion
• Pragmatic builder mindset: willing to use third-party solutions when they're the fastest path to customer value
• Iterative working style with preference for rapid feedback loops over lengthy optimization cycles
• Collaborative approach with ability to explain technical concepts and learn from domain experts
• Fluent English communication skills

Valued experience:

• Production deployment of generative image models or diffusion systems
• Evaluation of third-party AI APIs against internal alternatives
• Working in fast-growth startup environments or embedded product team structures
