Senior Footwear Designer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-growing footwear brand seeking a Senior Footwear Designer to shape their future collections and products. In this role, you will drive design strategy from concept to completion.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing new footwear concepts, models, and collections from initial idea through final design
• Translating fashion, footwear, consumer, and cultural trends into commercially viable products
• Creating silhouettes, colorways, materials, details, soles, and design concepts
• Building seasonal creative directions, moodboards, color and material stories, and collection concepts
• Continuously analyzing international runways, brands, retailers, social media, and street style trends
• Developing a distinctive design DNA and evolving the visual product language
• Creating professional sketches, renderings, and design specifications for product development
• Collaborating closely with product development, technical development, sourcing, and merchandising teams from concept through production readiness
• Evaluating and refining samples with focus on design, proportions, materials, colors, and details
• Using sales data, customer feedback, and market information to evolve bestsellers and identify new product opportunities
• Conducting regular international trend, trade show, market, and supplier travel to identify developments early and advance products directly on-site

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a designer with:

• Extensive experience as a Footwear Designer or Senior Footwear Designer, ideally with a relevant fashion, footwear, lifestyle, or consumer brand
• Strong portfolio demonstrating realized and commercially successful footwear products
• Outstanding instinct for silhouettes, proportions, colors, materials, and details
• Deep understanding of current footwear, fashion, lifestyle, and consumer trends
• Ability to interpret trends and develop distinctive, commercially relevant design language rather than simply copying
• Experience developing complete collections, seasonal concepts, and product families
• Solid understanding of the entire footwear development process from design through sampling to production
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and relevant design tools; experience with 3D and AI-based design workflows is a strong plus
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance creativity, customer needs, and sales potential
• Experience working directly with product development, factories, and international production partners
• Very high visual standards combined with speed in development and execution
• Strong initiative and clear creative point of view
• High willingness for international travel for trend research, trade shows, suppliers, and production partners
• Excellent English skills; German skills are advantageous
