Platform Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization working at the intersection of national security and frontier AI systems. Our client partners with government agencies and leading technology companies to ensure the responsible development and deployment of advanced AI capabilities. Due to the sensitive nature of this work, successful candidates may need to be eligible for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and be willing to work on-site with clients periodically.

As a Platform Engineer, you will architect and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports high-stakes AI deployments. You'll own security controls, deployment automation, and multi-environment platform design while ensuring operational excellence across complex government and enterprise projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cloud platform infrastructure across multi-environment setups with full ownership of security controls and account structures
• Create and manage scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for complex client environments
• Optimize container orchestration via Kubernetes to ensure high availability and efficient resource utilization
• Implement advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to maintain production system health
• Manage production environments with ownership of incident response and root cause analysis
• Collaborate with Software and ML engineers to ensure applications are architected for production readiness
• Mentor engineers through peer reviews and sharing of engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• Deep experience maintaining high environment stability and driving infrastructure projects with minimal supervision
• Strong expertise in cloud networking, security, and identity management (IAM) with a focus on infrastructure hardening
• Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation alongside hands-on coding skills to deliver consistent, repeatable infrastructure
• Proven ability to manage Kubernetes clusters and Docker environments at scale for modern ML platforms
• Strong Python skills for building robust platform tooling that enables reliable infrastructure interactions
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex requirements into clear solutions and articulate technical trade-offs to both engineering teams and client stakeholders
• Ability to take full accountability for system uptime and production environment health
• Eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is required for this role
