People Partner – 16 Month FTC

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading European travel technology platform in their search for a People Partner on a 16-month fixed-term contract basis. This Edinburgh-based role offers the chance to work with a fast-growing organization that is shaping the future of sustainable transportation across multiple markets.

Our client operates at significant scale, serving millions of users through digital platforms and partner channels. As People Partner, you'll work autonomously across Customer Services and Operations, Fraud and Payments, and Corporate Affairs functions, acting as a trusted advisor to managers at every level while driving people-focused initiatives with real commercial impact.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the strategic People Partner to designated client groups, developing deep understanding of their commercial context to deliver value-added support
• Build credible relationships with stakeholders from frontline managers to senior leaders, adapting your approach to meet diverse needs
• Take a proactive, insight-led approach to identifying people risks early and advocating for appropriate solutions
• Coach and support people managers through key processes including performance management, absence management, and restructures
• Own employee relations cases end to end, including disciplinary and grievance investigations, performance improvement plans, redundancy processes, and complex absence situations
• Provide commercially pragmatic employee relations advice that balances legal compliance with practical business outcomes
• Lead people projects from scoping through delivery, collaborating across teams to achieve measurable outcomes
• Represent the People team in cross-functional forums, using data and insight to influence decisions and guide leadership

What We're Looking For

• Substantial experience managing a wide range of employee relations cases independently and end to end, including complex disciplinary, grievance, absence, and redundancy matters
• Proven track record coaching and building confidence in managers at all levels, particularly those new to people management
• Commercial mindset with focus on balanced outcomes for both business and employees
• Experience taking people initiatives from concept to completion while managing your own workload effectively
• Natural ability to build credible relationships across all levels and functions, influencing without direct authority
• Experience thriving in fast-paced, commercially driven environments, ideally within tech, e-commerce, or similar dynamic sectors
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and ability to apply it pragmatically
• CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience is highly desirable
• Exposure to organisational design or experience working with operational teams such as Customer Services would be advantageous
