Manager, API Services

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology services organization seeking a Manager, API Services to lead their internal software application programming interface development team. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering, enhancing, and maintaining high-quality APIs that ensure seamless integration and optimal performance across the organization's software ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the API services software development team, including hiring, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews
• Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable APIs
• Ensure maintenance, enhancement, and performance optimization of existing API infrastructure
• Collaborate with application administrators and project teams on API integration, help desk resolution, and delivery timelines
• Establish and enforce API development standards and best practices across the team
• Participate in roadmapping, budgeting, and forecasting activities
• Research, analyze, and recommend new technologies and processes that improve software quality and reduce development costs
• Provide Tier III/IV support for resolving production system issues
• Ensure adherence to SOC2 controls and documentation standards
• Contribute to software upgrades, build/buy decisions, and testing phases
• Participate in release/sprint planning and scrum meetings as needed

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of software development experience using ASP.NET and VB.net or C#.net, OR 8+ years managing a software development team
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server 2008 and above
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading technical teams in a development environment
• Strong experience with CRM, ERP, and Managed Services platforms
• Deep knowledge of API models, architecture, and development practices
• Experience with API iPaaS platforms
• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint (2013+)
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience
• Azure DevOps expertise
• DevOps and CI/CD implementation experience
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
• Exposure to MVC/Razor and Web Services (WCF/Web API)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
