Child Development Psychologist (PhD)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Child Development Psychologist to contribute to an innovative project combining psychology and artificial intelligence. This is a remote contractor position where you'll apply your doctoral expertise to help shape how AI systems understand and respond to child development contexts.

Your specialized knowledge in developmental psychology will be used to evaluate and improve AI training data and model outputs. No prior AI experience is required—we're looking for strong academic or research backgrounds in child development, with or without clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and annotate datasets related to child development and developmental psychology for AI training purposes
• Review model outputs for accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and developmental relevance
• Provide expert analysis on scenarios, test cases, and real-world situations involving children's learning and behavior
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve model performance and ensure psychological integrity
• Develop or refine guidelines addressing linguistic, cognitive, and psychosocial aspects of child development across diverse populations
• Document findings and recommendations to support ongoing research and development efforts

What We're Looking For

• PhD in Child Development, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field (required)
• Strong background in research or academic work related to child development
• Experience with technology-driven, digital, or AI-focused projects is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently on digital platforms while collaborating with distributed teams
• Proficiency in one or more of these languages is strongly preferred: Japanese, French, Tagalog, Malay, Lithuanian, Russian, Georgian, Polish, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, Vietnamese, Swahili, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Turkish, Gujarati, or Bulgarian
