Investment Associate/Manager Private Markets (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an Investment Associate or Investment Manager to join their investment team in Berlin. In this role, you will play a central part in managing and developing investment solutions with a particular focus on private markets offerings, including closed-end funds and retail investment vehicles.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating closely with strategic partners and service providers on fund construction, management, and reporting
• Monitoring portfolio construction, conducting portfolio analyses, market screenings, and benchmarking
• Serving as the primary point of contact for investment-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders in the private markets space
• Contributing to the expansion of the product portfolio in private markets
• Participating in the implementation of AI strategy, particularly through identifying and automating relevant processes
• Managing and contributing to diverse projects focused on innovation and scalability
• Taking comprehensive responsibility for products, including active involvement in operational processes
• Managing regular product and portfolio reporting in collaboration with partners
• Working cross-functionally with technology, product, compliance, operations, and marketing teams
• Supporting the development of communication concepts for end clients and external media

What We're Looking For

For the Associate level, you should bring at least two years of relevant professional experience; for the Manager level, at least four years. Ideal backgrounds include management consulting focused on financial services, investment teams at asset managers or advisors (such as family offices, wealth managers, or private equity/venture capital specialists), or comparable roles in the financial sector.

Required qualifications include:

• Successfully completed Master's degree from a leading university, ideally in economics with a focus on finance, management, or a quantitative discipline
• Strong understanding of macroeconomic relationships and financial market functioning
• Knowledge of characteristics across different asset classes, particularly in private markets
• Experience analyzing target funds and investment managers; familiarity with European long-term investment funds is advantageous
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style with experience managing and implementing projects
• Practical experience with AI-supported processes and strong interest in further development
• Hands-on mentality with strong attention to detail and conscientious work approach
• Proactive identification and optimization of inefficient processes
• Excellent communication skills
• Professional proficiency in both German and English
