About This Role
We are representing a confidential IT services organization that supports critical public-sector digital transformation initiatives in Germany. Our client is seeking a Senior IT Architect to shape the technical future of healthcare solutions serving statutory health insurance systems.
In this role, you will analyze complex requirements within the healthcare insurance ecosystem and develop secure, scalable, and sustainable IT architectures. You will take technical and professional responsibility for architectural decisions and guide their implementation alongside development teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop modern solution architectures for statutory health insurance environments
- Take ownership of architectural decisions and define technical standards and guardrails
- Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into future-ready solution designs
- Ensure IT security, data protection, and compliance requirements specific to healthcare systems
- Advise project teams and stakeholders on technical matters
- Support technical implementation and assist with complex architectural challenges
- Evaluate and introduce appropriate technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches
- Identify optimization potential within existing system landscapes
- Assess and implement innovative technologies including AI to advance processes and solutions
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of modern software architectures and hands-on experience with Java/JEE-based enterprise applications
- Proven experience in technical design of complex application systems and integration/interface architectures (REST, SOAP)
- Experience with cloud and container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker
- Deep experience in the German statutory health insurance (GKV) environment with solid understanding of healthcare sector requirements
- Knowledge of handling sensitive data and regulatory requirements in protected environments
- Excellent German language skills, written and spoken (C2 level)
- Nice to have: Experience with secure coding, API security, or comparable security standards; UML modeling, requirements engineering, or architectural methods like iSAQB; AI solutions in regulated environments, ideally healthcare
