Audit Analyst

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential federal contracting organization seeking an Audit Analyst to support Department of Defense financial systems and compliance initiatives. This role focuses on SOC-1 audit readiness, internal controls over financial reporting, and enterprise financial management system compliance. You'll work within a mission-driven environment supporting critical government operations while advancing your career in federal audit and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit and compliance engagements supporting DoD financial systems, including enterprise resource planning and logistics platforms
• Establish and enforce audit work standards consistent with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and federal requirements
• Support Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) objectives and DoD auditability goals
• Manage internal controls testing, documentation, remediation tracking, and risk assessments
• Coordinate SOC-1 Type I and Type II audit support activities for service organization environments
• Conduct walkthroughs, control testing, and respond to auditor inquiries
• Validate control design and operating effectiveness across financial systems
• Identify recurring audit themes and systemic control issues, recommending enhancements to financial system controls and governance structures
• Support development of analytical frameworks for transportation financial accountability and system traceability

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Active Secret clearance required
• 5+ years of experience supporting DoD or federal financial audit engagements
• Strong knowledge of DoD financial management environments and internal controls
• Demonstrated expertise in SOC-1 audit requirements and GAGAS standards
• Understanding of federal financial compliance frameworks
• Experience with ERP systems, financial system traceability, and data integrity controls
• Preferred: CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or PMP certification
• Ability to travel locally up to 10%
