Systemadministrator*in – IT Security & Endpoint Management

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization based in Germany seeking a System Administrator specializing in IT Security & Endpoint Management. This is a remote position available throughout Germany, offering a 2-year contract with 39 hours per week.

Our client is a progressive advocacy organization that mobilizes millions of people for positive social and political change. As part of their three-person IT support team, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining security infrastructure and supporting staff with technical challenges in a fully remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in incident response, supporting post-incident analysis and implementing risk mitigation measures (phishing, malware, zero-day vulnerabilities)
• Support risk assessments and implement risk reduction measures while contributing to security policies, processes, and documentation
• Evaluate new and existing applications for IT security and compliance requirements
• Support integration of applications into the Mobile Device Management system and maintain these systems collaboratively
• Accompany the introduction of new internal services, communicating with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage existing internal systems including IAM, email mailboxes, and mailing lists
• Handle procurement and setup of hardware (notebooks, tablets, mobile devices) and software
• Provide user support for everyday hardware and software issues
• Work closely with data protection and digital security teams

What We're Looking For

• Completed vocational training as IT specialist for system integration with 3-5 years relevant experience, or comparable qualification
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) with familiarity in SIEM and IAM systems
• Ability to identify automation opportunities and implement them via Python, Shell scripts, or low-code solutions
• Deep knowledge of macOS with ideally experience supporting Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with Mobile Device Management systems such as JAMF
• Strong collaborative skills with a solution-oriented and empathetic working style
• Strong sense of responsibility with data protection and security as core priorities
• Experience or engagement in nonprofit or advocacy work preferred
• Alignment with progressive social and political values
• Fluency in German required for this position
• Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings and on-site support when needed

Pay

Compensation is based on German TVöD pay scale group 10. Our client offers 31 vacation days, home office allowance, child allowances for parents, weekend/holiday work compensation, subsidized health and fitness memberships, and comprehensive professional development opportunities.

This is a remote position with occasional travel requirements within Germany. The role offers a 2-year fixed-term contract with potential for extension.
