About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential cybersecurity startup based in Leipzig that is building innovative solutions at the intersection of AI and enterprise security. Our client is seeking a Backend Developer to join their small, talented engineering team during an exciting growth phase.
This is a full-time position based in Leipzig with a flexible hybrid arrangement combining office work in the city center and remote days.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems
- Implement APIs and microservices to support product features
- Integrate databases and external systems with the backend infrastructure
- Develop automated tests to ensure code quality and system stability
- Monitor and analyze system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
What We're Looking For
- Excellent knowledge of Python and FastAPI
- Strong experience developing scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures
- Deep knowledge of SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization
- Experience with RabbitMQ and asynchronous/event-driven architectures
- Experience with Google Cloud, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, performance optimization, reliability, and maintainable software design
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and critically evaluate existing approaches
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-growing startup environment
