RN Crisis Care Triage

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential insurance services organization seeking RN Crisis Care Triage professionals to join their remote team. This part-time position offers 32 hours per week supporting catastrophic injury cases across the United States. The role operates within a 24/7 team structure, with greatest staffing needs during afternoon, evening, overnight, and weekend hours.

In this nontraditional clinical setting, you'll apply your nursing expertise to triage high-acuity referrals, coordinate field case management responses, and advocate for injured workers while working remotely. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming catastrophic injury referral calls from clients, gathering vital case details and medical status information
• Apply the full nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) when triaging emergency and urgent calls
• Identify life-threatening emergencies and recommend appropriate interventions
• Assign and coordinate Field Case Manager assignments for onsite hospital visits
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers, service directors, and claims examiners regarding injured worker status and case updates
• Provide phone guidance in a calm, professional manner ensuring information is clearly understood
• Document all triage activity professionally and enter incident data into computer systems
• Educate field case managers on protocols and client-specific guidelines
• Meet established triage benchmarks and quality assurance standards
• Ensure client service guidelines are followed and communicated to appropriate parties

What We're Looking For

• Active, unrestricted RN license issued in a state or territory of the United States (required)
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution preferred
• Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
• Experience triaging high-acuity or emergency cases preferred
• Excellent communication skills with ability to remain calm in crisis situations
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Flexibility to work afternoon, evening, overnight, or weekend shifts as needed
• Proficiency with computer systems and documentation
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork
