Senior Director of Global Operations

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential autonomous technology organization that is rapidly expanding drone delivery operations across major metropolitan areas in the United States. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Director of Global Operations to lead the operational engine powering next-generation delivery services at scale.

This is a remote position based in the United States, with preference for candidates in California or those comfortable leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the team responsible for launching new markets across the US and internationally, ensuring existing operations meet strategic objectives and aviation protocols
• Partner with cross-functional teams including partnerships, real estate, business operations, and regulatory affairs to execute rapid deployment and operationalization of delivery sites
• Monitor and optimize site-level unit economics including cost-per-delivery, labor efficiency, and fleet availability as operations scale
• Collaborate with product, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to operationalize new hardware, software features, and partner integrations
• Build and scale a high-performing operations workforce using a hybrid model of full-time employees, third-party contractors, and vendor networks
• Champion adoption of AI-driven tools and automated workforce scheduling to optimize labor allocation, forecast maintenance needs, and streamline diagnostics
• Maintain compliance with aviation regulations (FAA Part 135/107), environmental health and safety policies, and local safety protocols across all field locations

What We're Looking For

• 25+ years of progressive operational leadership experience managing hyper-growth physical operations, complex multi-site networks, and last-mile logistics
• Strong commercial orientation with deep understanding of operational P&L management, unit economics, labor scheduling optimization, and cost-per-delivery metrics
• Proven track record scaling distributed field operations using a mix of contractor, vendor, 3PL workforces, and full-time employee teams
• Demonstrated experience integrating advanced technology, AI tools, or algorithmic automation into daily operational workflows to boost efficiency and uptime
• High-level problem-solving skills with experience balancing safety and compliance frameworks with aggressive growth timelines
• Proven ability to partner effectively across technology, product engineering, regulatory affairs, and enterprise partnerships teams
• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, Logistics, or equivalent practical experience
